“Only Decision Makers Can Get Other People To Make Decisions”
What is the job of a salesperson? Close deals? Go to the Bank? Convince prospects to buy?
Frankly, the real job of a salesperson is to help people make decisions. That is all. If you think about it, far too often sales interactions end with no clear next step. “Get back to me”, “we will let you know” and “I think this should work” are often taken as acceptable outcomes. Not getting a decision minimizes sales success far more than any “no” you may hear from a prospect.
The trouble is many people are not decisive. If ordering lunch is a ten minute exercise, you may not be decisive. If picking a restaurant to dine with your spouse causes a two hour dialogue, you may not be decisive. Is being indecisive really a problem?
Only if you are in sales…if your job is to help other people make decisions you really need to be able to make them yourself. Remember, “Only Decision Makers Can Get Other People to Make Decisions”. Think about this before your next sales call, or ask for help from Sales Concepts at 440-575-7000.
